Fashion- HOODIE SZN

By September 14, 2017Blog

The best time of the year for city is finally here; New York Fashion Week! Trends, fashion, runways, and parties sweep over the city as celebrities, stylist, and designers integrate into the fashion capital. Currently, mid-way through, I can’t help but to notice a trend taking over the front row of runways and fashion trend reports: HOODIES. I know you’re probably thinking, hoodies? A trend? How can something so common become so fashionable? Take a look at how these public figures dress up the basic clothing garment.

Hasley attended the Dion Lee fashion show during new york fashion week in a neon orange hoodie worn as a dress.

Dave East spotted in Shearling-Logo Fendi hoodi.

Tatiana Elizabeth spotted in NYC in a yellow Gucci hoodie during New York Fashion Week.

Offset performs at Budweiser’s Made In America fest in a pink Gucci hoodie.

Marlos Hampton posed in a Silence and Noise hoodie dress.

Jay-Z performs at Budweiser’s Made in America Fest in a Weekday white hoodie.

Men are wearing hoodies as if they are suits! They wear them to important events such as performances and fashion shows to display the current value of hoodies at the time. Whether it is a plain, intricate, cheap, or expensive hoodie, it is for sure the season to sport your favorite over garment.

Women are changing the game by substituting hoodies as dresses. On women, they are both cozy and sexy because they have enough room to move around in, but when a sample of the lower thigh is displayed, it gives an elegant sense of sex appeal. It’s amazing how one can be deemed “in style” by just having and extra area of fabric attached to the back of a crew neck. The hooded aspect of a garment adds volume and a 3-D feel. Let’s take a look at how personal stylist, Lola, transforms a hoodie dress into a New York Fashion Week look.

Pictured above, Lola displays how a black hoodie dress can be considered a look. The outfit details are: fedora: H&M, oversized hoodie: Forever 21, fur throw: Buffalo Exchange, neon green clutch: Moschino, and boots: Givenchy. Lola is in tune with the current trend, but effortlessly adds her own touch for an affordable price. You can consult in @plotwistluvlola to achieve a similar look.
